Your previous learning still matters
Passers Hub does not automatically make a partly trained learner begin again. Your instructor reviews what is safe and consistent now, recognises useful previous experience and builds the next plan around the areas that need improvement.
Previous lesson hours alone do not prove current driving standard. Skills can strengthen, fade or become inconsistent, so the plan is based on demonstrated ability rather than assumptions about where you “should” be.

What we will not assume
No blame and no automatic restart
A new instructor should understand your current driving, not criticise another instructor or promise an instant result. Some existing routines may be strong; others may need correction or rebuilding.
Passers Hub will not guarantee that a certain number of previous hours means you are ready for test. It will also not disregard useful, safe skills simply because they were learned elsewhere.

Changing transmission
Switching manual or automatic lessons
Manual to automatic
Your road knowledge can carry across. Lessons then focus on automatic selector use, creep control, braking and adapting existing routines without the clutch.
Automatic to manual
Existing observation and planning may help, while clutch control, gear timing, hill starts and coordinated vehicle control require new practice.
Switching transmission does not guarantee faster progress. If you later pass a practical test in an automatic car, your licence will generally be restricted to automatic vehicles.
After a previous test attempt
Use the result constructively
A previous test result can help identify patterns, but the examiner’s report should be considered alongside your current driving. Lessons may revisit recorded faults, underlying routines and the pressure or planning issues that contributed.
The aim is not simply to rehearse one route. Training develops reliable observations, judgement and control across varied conditions.
