What is Pass Plus?
Pass Plus is a practical training course designed to improve driving skills and help full-licence holders drive more safely. It can be taken at any time, although official guidance says it may be most useful to new drivers during the first year after passing.
There is no additional driving test. You work through six modules with a Pass Plus-registered approved driving instructor and must reach the required standard in each area.

All-weather driving
Adapting speed, space and vehicle control for rain, poor visibility and changing road conditions.

Safe speeds, bends, hills, limited views, hazards and meeting traffic on country roads.

Using lights correctly, judging speed and distance, and responding to reduced visibility.

Your Pass Plus course with Passers Hub
We keep the training calm, practical and focused on the situations that matter after you pass. Every Passers Hub instructor is a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor with more than 10 years of professional driver-training experience. We do not use trainee PDIs.

Official Pass Plus guidance
GOV.UK states that Pass Plus takes at least six hours and must be taught by a Pass Plus-registered approved driving instructor. Successful completion may help some drivers obtain a car-insurance discount, but discounts are not guaranteed and depend on the insurer.

Do I have to take another test?
No. Pass Plus is practical training rather than another driving test. You must reach the required standard in all six modules.
How long does Pass Plus take?
The official course takes at least six hours. Extra training may be advised if more time is needed to reach the required standard.
When can I take Pass Plus?
You can take it at any time after obtaining a full driving licence, although it is often most useful during the first year after passing.
Does Pass Plus reduce car insurance?
Some insurers may offer a discount after successful completion, but this is not guaranteed. Check directly with insurers before booking if a discount is important to you.
